Blessed Be!

It is now the Eve of the Autumnal Equinox.
I will be offline all evening performing
the Duties My Office of High Priestess
requires.

I have now made no less than 6 hypnosis
videos unassisted; as I am very new to
videography, these are not to be considered
a firm example of future output...lol.

I will embed the playlist I have made of
these as My Equinox Gift to My viewers...
and why is it some techie nerd was
complaining the other day that all most
bloggers blogged about was themselves?

I for one thought that was the main
idea behind blogging; presenting
oneself and one's views to the WWW
via the blogosphere?

Your Enchantress Is On a Video Safari!

I am now exploring different options for content linkages
for My Multimedia Gallery. YouTube is not the only option,
it never was; the fact that it is one of the most known
and widely used was the attraction there.

Now I am ranging far and wide looking for the fastest
video streaming server, with the most file format,
largest filesize, and fastest streaming options.

The large filesizes are necessary as I am just beginning
to explore making my own videos, and am still in doubt
about proper optimization. My initial vids therefore
are quite large...(12-85MB). I am also bringing in my
favorite science vid providor, NASA itself (chuckle).

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration of
the United States, being a government agency with its
own very large
dedicated servers, has never had to think about video
optimization much since the days of the Dryden Flight
Research Center which launched the first test planes
of the X-Plane Research program.

The Dryden videos were quite small be comparison to
today's SGI-rendered productions; typlcally 20MB
or less. This is mainly due to being shot in black
and white or color on analog film.

Now JPL and Caltech plus Goddard Space Flight Center
Scientific Visualization Studio (bless their little
techie hearts)are bringing in SGI supercomputers to
render projections of what galaxies, neutron stars,
and supernovae might look like as they form; not to
mention using these same computers to visualize our
own Earth's weather patterns.

Such computer generated digital videos suometimes
reach 800MB or more; how on earth am I supposed to
bring these down to a size that My viewers could
enjoy from a user-upload site?

I am considering using some of My own server's
bandwidth, and providing some of the larger ones
as free downloads. If I do this I will have to
be careful due to the fact this site will also
be supporting semi-regular chats. I will keep
a careful eye on my bandwidth...in the meantime...
